Boquet Valley high school now has two 1,000-point scorers on the hardwood in back-to-back days. Monday, Feb. 12's 27-point performance from boys' basketball player Jackson Hooper leading him to 1,021 career points was followed by girls' basketball player Ella Lobdell's 18 points on Tuesday, Feb. 13 who now sits at 1,006 career points. "It means a lot," Lobdell said. "We've been close friends ... getting to share this experience with him is really exciting and just getting to share it with our whole community is really fun."Lobdell's play lifted Boquet Valley to a 38-32 win over Seton Catholic high school earning their sixth straight win in Mountain Valley Athletic Conference Play. Lobdell was thrilled to celebrate the win and her milestone moment with the large presence of Griffin fans and her family who traveled to watch her play in Plattsburgh. "It's amazing," Lobdell said. "Especially when it's so far away, Seton is about an hour away from Boquet Valley. Just having this many people come out to support my 1,000 points is spectacular."Seton Catholic gave Boquet Valley a good fight on their senior night, after losing by 21 points to them back in January. The knights were led by one of those seniors Gabriella Conti, who finished with 14 points. Lobdell is the ninth high school basketball player in Section VII to reach 1,000 career points or more.
