Water Park Information and Guidelines

We look forward to your visit to Soak City! Soak City is Knott's Berry Farm premier waterpark and is included with Gold and Prestige Season Passes. Our goal is for you to have a safe and enjoyable visit. This page will provide you with relevant information to make the most of your day at Soak City.

To participate in waterpark attractions, appropriate swimwear is required. Here are some recommendations to help you plan your visit:

  • Proper swimwear is required. Swimwear is defined as a one- or two-piece swimsuit. Pants, denim, thongs, or transparent clothing are not permitted. No metal ornamentation on clothing. We reserve the right to determine the appropriateness of swimwear.
  • Guests wearing bathing attire with metal buttons, rivets, zippers, or snaps will not be permitted to ride Old Man Falls, Laguna Stormwatch Tower, Malibu Run, Shore Break Tower, The Wedge, Banzai Falls, Beach House Slides, or Gremmie Lagoon Slides.
  • Footwear is not permitted on Soak City attractions. Aqua socks and aquatic style footwear are permitted on Banzai Falls and the Wedge.
  • Guests requiring special accommodations should speak to a member of the Aquatics management team. Specifically designed attire made from lycra or nylon type materials will be considered. Due to attraction manufacturer requirements, some riding restrictions may apply.

If you do not have appropriate bathing attire, swimsuits and other aquatic gear can be purchased at WipeOut Surf Shop.

To ensure the safest experience for all guests during their visit, the following rules are in effect. We appreciate your cooperation in this regard.

  • Each bather shall take a shower using warm water and soap and thoroughly rinse off all soap before entering or re-entering attractions.
  • Use of water attractions, including water features, if ill with a contagious disease or condition is prohibited.
  • Persons having currently active diarrhea or who have had active diarrhea within the past 14 days shall not be allowed to enter the water.
  • Do not intentionally swallow or put water from attractions and pools in your mouth.
  • Appropriate swimwear is required. Thongs and transparent clothing are not permitted. We reserve the right to determine the appropriateness of swimwear.
  • Swimwear with metal buttons, rivets, zippers, or snaps is not permitted at some water attractions.
  • Guests who require diapers are required to wear swim diapers or a diaper specifically designed for aquatic use. Please change diapers in the bathroom, not pool side.
  • Participants with a history of seizures--or heart or other serious medical conditions--should be supervised by someone who knows how to swim and how to provide emergency assistance.
  • Life jackets are required for individuals under 52" at certain attractions. Life jackets are required for individuals under 48" at some attractions. Only (appropriate Coast Guard) approved life jackets are permitted.
  • Supervise children at all times. Guests under 42" must be accompanied by a supervising companion at specific attractions. Refer to the Safety Guide sign posted at each attraction.
  • Attractions may have specific height, weight, and safety requirements. Refer to the Safety Guide sign posted at each attraction to make an informed decision as to whether the attraction is right for you.
  • Masks, snorkels, water toys, whistles, and inflatable assists are not permitted.
  • Glassware and similar material with a tendency to shatter on impact are not permitted.
  • No running, diving, extended breath holding, boisterous or rough play during participation.
  • Cameras, cell phones, and video recording devices may not be used on any slide, attraction or in any changing area or restroom.
  • Knott’s Soak City is subject to close due to inclement weather such as lightning, heavy rain, and winds.
  • Service animals are permitted into the waterpark but are not permitted in water attractions.
  • To provide a safe and enjoyable waterpark experience for our guests, Knott’s Soak City utilizes training exercises to improve our lifeguards' skills and vigilance. These exercises will occur during normal operating hours and may consist of the following: submersible water manikins, the use of video surveillance equipment, internal and external audits, active/inactive water rescues and/or first aid scenarios.
  • Our lifeguards are highly trained and qualified. Follow their instructions at all times.
  • Unless otherwise authorized by law, no person shall knowingly possess, have under the person’s control, convey or attempt to convey a deadly weapon or dangerous ordnance onto these premises.
  • Soak City is a smoke free environment. Smoking is permitted outside of the Water Park and in the designated location just outside the Main Gate.
  • The following items are not permitted inside the park: large coolers, food, beverages, glass, pop-up shade structures, playpens, or tents.
  • Small handheld coolers not exceeding 12”x18” in size will be allowed that contain water and sports drinks only
  • Lounge chairs are available on a first come first served basis. Lounge chairs must remain in designated areas and not on the grass.
  • Hearing devices or any other electronic health related devices may be damaged by water. Please take the necessary steps to protect such items.

VISA, Mastercard, Discover and American Express credit cards and most debit cards are accepted for payment. We also accept Apple Pay and Google Pay. The park has multiple Cash-to-Card kiosks located throughout to allow you to convert your cash to a prepaid card with no fee. Leftover funds can be used anywhere VISA is accepted.

Our Aquatics staff is here to ensure that you have a safe and pleasant visit. First aid staff and waterpark supervisors are available throughout the area should you have any questions or need assistance. Please follow all lifeguard rules and instructions, but do not talk to or distract lifeguards while they are on duty.

To provide a safe and enjoyable waterpark experience for our guests, Soak City routinely utilizes training exercises to improve our lifeguards’ skills and vigilance. These exercises will occur during normal operating hours and may consist of the following: submersible water manikins, the use of video surveillance equipment, internal and external audits, active/inactive water rescues and/or first aid scenarios.

Soak City provides a full day of fun in the sun! To make the most of your day, be sure to drink plenty of water in order to avoid heat exhaustion. A drinking fountain is located outside Portside Pizza and there are also multiple Refresh Stations available throughout the waterpark. Don’t forget to apply sunscreen frequently throughout the day. If you happen to forget your sunscreen, WipeOut Surf Shop in the Park has sunscreen available for purchase.

Life jackets are available for use throughout Soak City. Life jackets are complimentary and are available to any guest wishing to use one. Children, first-time swimmers, and weaker swimmers are encouraged to wear a life jacket.Some attractions require children below a specific height to wear a life jacket before participating in the attraction. Aquatics staff and lifeguards reserve the right to impose the use of life jackets as needed. For specific attraction requirements, please visit our ride experience guidelines. Guests are permitted to wear their own life jacket; however, it must be Coast Guard certified.

The First Aid Station is located by the Davy Jones Lockers. If you need any assistance during your visit, do not hesitate to stop by the First Aid Station, or notify the nearest lifeguard. Our team would be glad to assist.

Upon arriving, we recommend selecting a meeting place such as Guest Services, in the event you or your child becomes lost or separated from your party. In the unlikely event that your child becomes separated, please alert an associate. Public address pages cannot be broadcast inside Soak City.

If you happen to lose an item or leave an item behind while visiting, please drop by Guest Services during regular operating hours. After hours, please visit the Information Center located at Knott's Berry Farm. Please designate a group meeting spot, we are unable to page guests.Knott's Berry Farm and Soak City are not responsible for lost or stolen property of a Passholder or Ticket Holder.

A water wheelchair is available for guests requiring additional assistance at Guest Services on a first come, first-served basis. The water wheelchair may be used by multiple guests on the same day. A pool lift is available at the outside entrance of Sunset River. During your visit, please speak to a member of our Aquatics management team to obtain access to the water wheelchair or the pool lift and for further accessibility information.

For your convenience, lockers are located just inside the Soak City Main Gate. Various locker sizes are available for all your personal belongings. Locker rentals are automated and can be paid using credit cards. The lockers work with electronic pin codes and will allow unlimited access throughout the day. Locker access is available until Soak City is closed for the evening. Soak City cannot be held responsible for lost or stolen items.

Relax and enjoy the privacy of your own cabana. A limited number of exclusive cabanas are available each day and often sell out. For more information and to reserve your cabana, please visit cabana reservations.

Cabana Rentals include complimentary inner tubes for use at Sunset River, Laguna Stormwatch Tower, Shore Break Tower, and Malibu Run.

Inner tubes are available free of charge at each attraction that requires a tube to ride. Inner tubes must remain at the attraction after riding.

If you would like the ultimate fun in the sun, personal inner tubes can be rented for the duration of your day from Cabana Tube Rental stand located by the Tidal Wave Bay.Rental Tubes are permitted on the following attractions: The Sunset River, Laguna Stormwatch Tower, Malibu Runs, and the Shore Break tube slides. Rental Tubes are not permitted in the Tidal Wave Bay.
