Linda is cynical about the situation and tells Madi that Augustine's claims seem too good to be true and that she shouldn't trust Augustine until she receives whatever Augustine has promised her. Madi disagrees with Linda's cynicism about their host.
From experience, Linda tells Madi not to get her hopes up as talk is cheap, especially in businesses like this. |
Follow After Stan
After Linda and Madi's conversation, leave via the unlocked double doors and follow after Stan, who calls out to the girls to come and take a look at what he has found.
On the other side of the door, Linda and Madi enter what appears to be a large Atrium. Upon entering, Linda overheard Madi mumble something strange about "someone," never thinking they'd see their little Madibear end up in a place like this. Madi will dismiss the intrigue when questioned, saying it was nothing.
Explore the Atrium
Starting in the Atrium, head over to the fireplace to inspect the large painting on the wall. When looking at the painting, you can attempt to rub off the dust covering the nameplate. Not only does it reveal the painting is of Archibald MacMillan, but it also opens what appears to be a secret room to your right.

Leave the painting and open the door to the secret room. Here, you'll discover a rather high-tech security system that overlooks almost every room of the manor, apart from one that is offline.
While Stan tries to justify the excessive security as a precaution for all of the valuables, something feels a little off.
In the room, you can inspect the security monitors and the desk to your left, which contains an Artifact in the form of a strange-looking blueprint.
When leaving the room, you'll find one more item you can look at on a cabinet on the wall furthest from the fireplace.
Ready to continue, head towards the staircase leading to the second floor. Here, you'll enter a cutscene where Linda asks Madi and Stan how they obtained their film reels.
Madi will then claim it was inherited from her mother, who Linda happens to guess is none other than Tap to Reveal. It's also revealed that Madi never met Tap to Reveal, indicating that something in the past may have gone wrong.

Following the revelation, Linda will have two choices on how she responds.

Linda, taken aback by Bonnie's passing, comforts Madi and apologizes for the pain she has experienced in losing a loved one. Linda asks Stan how he obtained his film reel, but he'll refuse to share how or who he received it from but will share that he won it fair and square. Linda briefly loses her cool, revealing to the group that she's a little more invested in the Murder Mill project than she cares to admit. Madi felt alienated by Linda choosing to question Stan after revealing her mother had recently died. | Decreases Linda's relationship with Madi. |
After the conversation has ended, follow Stan and Madi to the top floor. At the top, you'll find a statue that you can inspect along the wall to your left. Here, Linda will note that it's missing a piece.
Just to the right of the statue, you'll find a mysterious metal door-like structure that appears to be locked.
Now, to the left of Stan, you'll find a novel that you can inspect and read that's told by the man who stopped Frank Stone, Sheriff Lloyd Kusich--we all know that isn't the whole truth.
Next, you'll find a cabinet in the far right corner that needs a key—we'll need to return to this later.

So, when you're ready, head over to Madi by the staircase leading to the third floor. As you near, you'll overhear Madi speaking to someone. When talking to Madi, Linda will ask who she's talking to, to which she'll share it's Bonnie, as she never really got a chance to say goodbye.
After further conversation, Linda can opt to tell Madi more about her mother.

Madi appreciates Linda's advice about her grief leaving her vulnerable. | Increases Linda's relationship with Madi.
Choice 7 | ||
This option will only be available if you discover the secret camera room on the first floor. Madi thought Linda was being paranoid about what Augustine might know. | Decreases Linda's relationship with Madi.
