What Is The Whiskey River Wrap At Red Robin?

Red Robins Whiskey River Wrap Remix Recipe - (1)

For those of you who are not familiar with the Red Robin Whiskey River Wrap, it is a chicken wrap that is smothered in a barbecue sauce. The wrap also includes cheese, tortilla strips, lettuce, and ranch dressing. It is then grilled to perfection. This wrap is one of Red Robin’s most popular menu items, and for good reason! It is absolutely delicious.

The original Red Robin whiskey river chicken wrap clocks in at around 1040 calories, which is pretty high for a chicken wrap. However, our remix version of the chicken wrap is only 250 calories per serving size or roughly 500 calories per serving size if you are making a larger wrap! That’s a savings of 790 calories per wrap. Plus, this recipe is just as easy to make as the original and you won’t have to make the trip to Red Robin. So, if you are looking to cut back on calories, but still want a delicious chicken wrap, then this recipe is for you.

The Tortilla

Red Robins Whiskey River Wrap Remix Recipe - (2)

The first step in making our remix version of the red robin whiskey river chicken wrap is to start with a tortilla. We believe that using a low-calorie wrap tortilla is key to keeping this wrap lower in calories. We are using Extreme Wellness Tortillas by OLE because not only do they have a spinach and herb tortilla, but it comes in at just 50 calories per tortilla. If you don’t have these tortillas available just try to find the best low-calorie tortilla option available for you.

The Chicken

Red Robins Whiskey River Wrap Remix Recipe - (3)

We are using boneless, skinless chicken breasts for this red robin chicken wrap. Believe it or not, the chicken is not the most crucial part of this recipe and is fairly straightforward. Just be sure to cut the chicken into roughly 1-inch pieces and season with salt and pepper.

The Sauces

The sauce is one of the key things for this chicken wrap. The first sauce we are going to use is barbecue sauce. We are using Sweet Baby Ray’s Honey barbecue Sauce because it is delicious and only has 35 calories per tablespoon. The next sauce we are going to use is ranch dressing. We are using Hidden Valley Classic Ranch Dressing because it is a classic for a reason. We are not using any sugar-free or low-calorie sauces in this recipe because we want to show that you can still get full flavors without having a high-calorie meal. However, you can certainly opt to switch out sauces for your favorite lower-calorie options or use your own homemade barbecue sauce.

The Cheese

Red Robins Whiskey River Wrap Remix Recipe - (5)

We are using cheddar cheese because it pairs well with chicken and barbecue sauce and is what the original red robin wrap uses. However, you can really use any type of cheese that you like. Just be sure to shred the cheese before adding it to the red robin chicken wrap.

The Lettuce

For the lettuce, we recommend using either iceberg or romaine lettuce. Either of these will give a good result to match the original. Just be sure to shred your lettuce if you want it to be close to the original. Another great option would be fresh spinach if you’re looking to get some extra nutrients.

Tortilla Strips

Red Robins Whiskey River Wrap Remix Recipe - (6)

The original red robin chicken wrap has tortilla strips, so we are going to include them in our remix as well because we feel they are crucial to the recipe. You can find these in the salad section of most grocery stores. These give a great texture and crunch to the wrap that really makes you feel like you’re eating the original and not just a regular chicken wrap.
