What Happened In Oshi no Ko Season 2 Episode #6?
Episode #6 Sees Melt Make His Mark As An Actor
Season 2, episode #6 of Oshi no Ko takes off with the beginning of the Tokyo Blade stage play with an opening sequence introducing the various characters of the story. The play begins with Blade, played by Himekawa stumbling upon a katana and then crossing paths with Tsurugi, played by Kana.
After being defeated by Blade, Tsurugi admits to his strength, and the two set out to Shinjuku as their first step to making Blade the ruler of the nation. It is at this point of the play that Melt takes the stage as Kizami, who eventually also joins Blade and Tsurugi on their journey, bringing an end to Act 1 of the play.
The second act of the play sees the group formed by Blade, known as the Shinjuku Cluster cross blades with the demons of the Shibuya Cluster, beginning with a standoff between Melt's character, Kizami, and Kamoshida's character, Monme. Cut to a few days prior, the play's producer Raida and Kaburagi discuss Kamoshida's acting when Raida raises his concerns about Melt, asking Kaburagi why he decided to cast Melt for the play. Kaburagi reveals his self-interest in Melt, seemingly seeing the potential in him while aware of his efforts to do well and improve.
Back to the fight between Kizami and Monme, the audience begins to notice Melt's poor acting. A flashback reveals Melt's backstory and how he became an actor, with a heartbreaking scene of him breaking into tears watching himself on Sweet Today and recognizing his poor acting, which urges him to work harder to improve as an actor. The episode reveals that Melt even approached Aqua for guidance, who advised him to use his bad acting to catch the audience off guard. Melt does just that as he replicates a stunt from the manga, tossing and spinning his blade into the air, which causes the audience to erupt into applause.
A flashback to rehearsals sees Melt admit that he cannot analyze his character as Akane and the others do. However, as he reads Tokyo Blade's manga, he begins to relate to his role, with Kizami's desperation and frustration mirroring his own, which he expresses with every fiber of his being on stage in the scene that follows. Kaburagi smiles knowing his hunch about Melt was right, while Yoriko, who until now had resented Melt quite a bit for his performance on Sweet Today, also bursts into tears witnessing his performance.
Oshi no Ko Season 2 Episode #7 Will See Akane Take the Spotlight and Challenge Kana
With Melt finally having proven himself, season 2 episode #7 will move to the next big stage battle between Sayahime and Tsurugi, or rather a battle for the spotlight between Akane and Kana as their different ideologies about acting clash along with their swords. The upcoming episode is expected to reveal the secret past between Akane and Kana, which was teased in a prior episode in season 2 when Kana teased Akane for having idolized her as a child.
However, there is much more to Akane and Kana's shared past than meets the eye. Episode #7 of Oshi no Ko will see Akane openly challenge Kana to compete with her, though it is yet to be seen whether Kana will be able to let go of her insecurities to fully embrace acting and the spotlight and give Akane a fair fight.
