Course overview
This programme is delivered in state-of-the-art music and performance facilities featuring three recording studios, five control rooms and a live performance theatre.
We use industry-standard hardware/software and our tutors and technical staff have extensive industry experience. We are an Avid (Pro Tools) Authorised Learning Partner. Authorised Learning Partner status ensures all work stations and recording studios are running the latest version of Pro Tools Ultimate to ensure you are taught on the most up to date software with the latest features available to professionals in the audioand music production industries.
Studios are equipped with industry standard Avid Pro Tools HDX systems (MacPro hosted) and Avid S6 and C|24 control surfaces. Studios and laboratories offer Pro Tools Ultimate, Ableton Live Suite, Reason and a host of 3rd party plug ins.
We have partnered with Tees Music Alliance, The Middlesbrough Empire, Middlesbrough Town Hall, ARC, KU Bar and more to bring works learning experiences to modules throughout the programme.

You must have achieved 48 UCAS tariff points from an appropriate Level 3 qualification (NVQ 3, BTEC Award or A Level). You are also required to have GCSE passes at grade 4 (C) or equivalent in English and maths.
Relevant subjects are music technology, music or an art/media/technology-related subject. Non-standard applicants for both full and part-time modes of study will be considered based on individual merit and industrial experience relevant to the programme.
You will be assessed through formative assessment to help develop your academic skills as well as several forms of summative assessments.
You can progress onto the BSc (Hons) Audio and Music Production [Top-up] course to achieve a full honours award.
